About Us

Excellent Christ-Centered Education

St. Paul Lutheran School in Westlake serves children in Preschool- 8th grade, and their families. Celebrating our 158th year, St. Paul has devoted resources, prayers, hard work and love to develop a program that is academically challenging and spiritually enriching. It is also a program that promotes the importance of developing good character. St. Paul is fully accredited and recognized by the state of Ohio. We offer art, vocal and instrumental music, technology, Spanish, and interscholastic sports. We have extended care before and after school and summer camp. 2015-2016 Accomplishments

Two St. Paul Writers Advance in Letters about Literature:
6th graders Maggi Feit and Laurel Willard have advanced to the Letters About Literature
State Competition. Participants in this competition write a personal letter explaining how that author’s work changed their way of thinking about the world or themselves. Out of 974 entries, only 42 progressed to this level of the competition.

St. Paul Students are CHAMPIONS!!:
On December 12th, St. Paul’s 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen teams traveled to Monticello Middle School to compete against 18 other schools in the District Tournament. The results were the best in St. Paul history! The 8th grade team qualified four writers for the Regional Tournament in March. They are Paris Mather, Meredyth Feit, Ally Herman, and Nate Bierly. The 7th grade team qualified ALL SIX of its writers for the Regional Tournament. They include Megan Miller, Devin Headrick, Lauren Buetow, Payton Drellishak, Kylie Garsky, and Deenah McFadden. Also, out of more than 100 writers, Lauren Buetow placed 14th, Devin Headrick placed 13th, Megan Miller placed 4th, and the entire 7th grade team took home the 1st place trophy! Well done, St Paul writers!
SPLS Students in the Spotlight:
Middle School Speech Competition –
On Saturday, February 13th, Lutheran West hosted a middle school speech competition where contestants from all over Northeast Ohio came to compete in several different categories. Under the direction of Mrs. Kim Gross, our St. Paul participants did very well.
The medal winners include:
Ally Herman – 1st Place in original oratory
Thomas Koglman – 1st Place in US Extemporaneous:
Nate Bierly – 3rd Place in Program of Oratorical Interpretation
Stephanie Koglman – 4th Place in Informative Speaking
Well Done, St. Paul Orators!
St. Paul Lutheran School has raised $1700 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Northeast Ohio. A check was given to their representative in our Chapel service on Wednesday, December 2.
St. Paul Lutheran School named one of the top 5% Lutheran Schools in the nation by the National Lutheran School Accreditation’s National Commission!!! St. Paul Lutheran School is one of seven Lutheran schools that have been given the honor of the above recognition. We also were recognized as a school with “Powerful Practices.” Celebrate and Share this with your friends, relatives, and neighbors.
