At St. Paul Westlake, we recognize the importance of each child becoming proficient in their basic math facts, developing a love for reading, and being able to express themselves using the written word. We also recognize the importance of creative expression and training in the Arts and Technology.
To ensure each child’s success, every student is accepted as an individual and a special child of God. Lessons are differentiated to provide opportunities for success for all learning styles. A developmentally appropriate environment is promoted in every aspect of the classroom while meeting or exceeding Ohio Department of Education Standards as well as implementation of research-based best practices in each curricular area. We also continue to integrate some of the newest educational technology methods throughout our well-rounded curriculum.

We strive to engage and motivate individual students by addressing each child’s unique interests and abilities by using all modalities of learning. We use technology in our classrooms, such as interactive touchscreens, iPads, smart boards, projectors, 1:1 Chromebooks, and many other educational tools that aid in student learning. We meet and exceed the Ohio Standards creatively and effectively.
Using an inquiry approach, we invite children to actively learn about their world. This approach lends itself to problem solving, simulations, research experiments, journaling, visualizing, and other student centered and student directed activities. We strive to build an engaged, independent, and organized learner.

T.E.A.M. Student Services (Intervention) Program
The T.E.A.M. Intervention Program is designed to meet the learning needs of children who have been identified through educational testing and/or physician diagnosis to have specific learning and/or behavioral needs in the general education setting. An Intervention Specialist, Auxiliary Services Team, and Academic Tutor work to provide individualized plans in consultation with the general education teachers and parents.
